Nautic Sweater is a striped raglan sweater with a twist. The refined colorwork detail in the wide stripes give the sweater its unique character. The name comes from the maritime look of the blue version. If you’ve never tried knitting stranded colorwork before, this is a perfect place to start as the chart only contains a few rounds with stranded knitting.

Here we knit the sweater in Önling No 1, our luxurious merino and angora blend, resulting in the softest sweater with a beautifully defined stitch pattern!

Worked with one strand throughout.

Recommended circular needles size 3 and 4 mm / US 2.5 and 6, 80 cm / 32 inches length (pattern uses the magic loop method for knitting small circumferences).

9 stitch markers and a stitch holder or waste yarn.

Gauge 20 sts and 30 rows in stockinette stitch on 4 mm / US 6 circular needle = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.

Procedure
The sweater is worked top-down. Cast on using an Italian (tubular) cast-on and work the neck ribbing. Work short rows and raglan increases to shape the back neck, then continue raglan increases throughout the yoke. Divide for body and sleeves. Work the pattern (everywhere except the rib) from the chart. Finish with rib edgings on body and sleeves.
